Time to Get Your Shine On
Susan here, it’s Wednesday, and the whole world seems a bit uncertain. My kids are coming home from college early for the semester and switching to online classes, there is not a single roll of toilet paper to be found and milk is in short supply, so let’s turn our focus onto something a bit less stressful and a lot more fun – SHINE!
We might have to keep our social distances up, but we can get up close and personal with our horses. As anyone will tell you at the barn, shine is my favorite subject…how to get it and how to keep it. Absolute hands-down favorite for show ring shine: EQUIFUSE SHINE SPRAY. Equifuse is a company out of California with an amazing assortment of products, and the shine spray does not disappoint. I always tend to lean towards products without silicone to avoid the drying out that commonly happens with silicone-based products.
We got to break out our bottle of Equfuse Shine Spray this weekend at Harmon Fields, and it still hasn’t let me down. Even though it was overcast at the show, our boy still looked gleaming over fences. Though this isn’t my go-to product for day-to-day application for coat conditioner, it absolutely is the must have spray as you go into the ring. The sparkle and gleam on the coat is remarkable.
Directions indicate all over application, but candidly, I would avoid the saddle area. As a mom that has applied enough shine spray that my daughter’s saddle pad slid off under the saddle, the trainer Valentina and my daughter Annie have largely banned my excessive use of this amazing spray. (I still use it, it’s that good). I have 11 different shine sprays in my garage — a sort of graveyard of products that disappointed or did not live up to the hype. Not Equifuse Shine Spray…it gets top billing on the product shelf!
